By Donna Novack © 1996 (ASCAP) CHORUS Hello, hello, just want to say hello. Hello, hello, from Japan to Mexico. Everyone around the world will always say hello. In Brazil they say, "bohn-DEE-ya,"* In Hungary it's, "ser-VOOS," And a señorita in México will say, "HO-la" to you. A Chinese friend will say, "NEE-how," A Russian, "ZDRAST-vui-tye," In Israel they say, "sha-LOM" to you, And "NAM-uh-stay" in Bombay. CHORUS In Ireland they say, "DEE-a hweet," And, "ko-NI-chi-wa" in Japan, And in the desert in Egypt it's, "aha-LANE wah SA-ha lane." In France they say, "bon-JOUR," In Zaire it's, "DJAM-bo," But right back here in the USA, Americans say, "Hello!" CHORUS *Please note throughout this recording foreign terms are spelled phonetically unless italicized. |
